‘How I Met Your Mother’ to Go Past the Eighth Season

Sources have indicated that the CBS series, How I Met Your Mother, is most likely to continue past its eighth Season. The series, which is currently in its seventh season, has been performing well in its network ratings.

Bays, the show’s co creator was speaking about the show’s future at a conference and he explained that at the moment, there is no end date to the series. He is quoted to have stated that it had been discussed as the question had been coming up a lot. However, that, the end of the show is not a priority at the moment. He says that when the show is going into its final season, communication will be made, but that it is very hard to say that the show will end on a particular date. He goes on to say that the show will end when they are officially out of ideas.

Jason Segel, who plays Marshall in the show stated that he would prefer if the show went on until it reached a natural end, regardless of whether it is after eight or nine years. he goes on to say that he was relieved when he found out that there was actually a plan.

As far as the end date of the show is concerned, Bays is quoted to have said that they would like to go beyond the eighth season. He goes on to say that it is not a call that can be made by one person, but that the actors and CBS will also have a say in the matter. He goes on to say that at the moment, the network is pleased with the ratings of the show and that is the game of everyone is that the show should go beyond season eight; it will then only be a matter of how much story is left. He says that the big ending has already been planned and that they know exactly how to line up the characters to get there.
