Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris)
Barney is the most overconfident person whose part of the gang. Barney and his brother were raised by their mother in Staten Island, New York. Barney is a womanizer; he constantly has elaborate theories and schemes regarding the seduction of women. He’s always proud and confident about his appearance, always wanted to come across the opposite sex as “awesome” and “legendary”.
Barney was not always that confident though. There was a time when he looks like a hippie, he wears his hair long and in a ponytail, wore only casual clothes and sandals, and even has a goatee. But ever since his then girlfriend and fiancé cheated on and dumped him, he reinvented his look; he changes his appearance to be more similar to that of the man his girlfriend has left him for. He now has clean shaven face, short hair, and only wears expensive suit because he claims that suits make him stand out from the majority.
Neil Patrick Harris plays the role of Barney. Harris was famous for his portrayal of the character of Doogie Howser, M.D. He has won numerous awards including a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a TV Series for Doogie Howser, M.D., a Golden Icon Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Comedy Television Series for How I Met Your Mother, and also an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his guest role in Glee.
