Also, the main gripe of fans this season has been that there are no catch phrases from Barney any longer. Barney-isms return to the series this week when at the end of a scene he quips one more of his memorable quotes.
Barney declares himself the leader of the group after Marshall and Lily move to an island. The self-appointed leader promises Ted and Robin he would take them to a strip club. He keeps his promises, comes ready in his suit with an overly silvery face and the three of them go to the local strip club.
Barney is so excited at the club that he controls the whole floor as if he were young Michael Jordan. Ted isn’t far behind. He and Barney have several drinks together and Ted enjoys the whole night. He plays poker and sings We Built Chip City, a parody from Starship. Amazing performance.
On the downside, the exchanges between Kevin and Robin at the strip club were rather awkward. Barney, in his usual humour, calls it ‘Early Relationship Chicken’. Then it turns out Kevin likes to do big five! That’s a renaissance of another Barney tradition. It would be interesting to see more interaction between them.
There is little about Lily and Marshall’s new residence. That story takes a back seat with Barney and others having fun at the club. Still there were some fun moments and the funniest of them was Marshall looking for the fuse box. It was so entertaining and Mickey’s entry only added to the fun. Poor Marshall had to undergo such an ordeal.
The episode concludes with the friends having breakfast around Marshall and Lily’s table. Life may send them apart but the friends will overcome every obstacle to be together once again.
